Professionals

We believe that child sexual abuse is never the fault of the child and that every young person is unique and needs to be supported in a way that works for them. Together we can provide safe spaces, therapeutic services and practical support to help young people cope and recover from sexual abuse.

Barnardo’s Beacon Project is here to support existing Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) services across 4 police areas (West Midlands, West Mercia, Warwickshire and Staffordshire) to build capacity, share best practice and create consistency to ensure that any young person who has been sexually abused gets the help and support they need.

For professionals we offer several different methods and levels of support for you and your team, these include:

Training and Events

Training and Events delivered by Beacon’s two Project Coordinators focus on building knowledge, skills and confidence when supporting young people who’ve been sexually abused.

All of our training and events are centered on being trauma informed.

In-Direct Specialist Support Services

Our two Project Coordinators can offer a specialist in-direct specialist support ( previously called consultation) service which is tailored to the specific case, this can include:

  • One to one meetings to provide advice and guidance and direct to specialist services and support.
  • Attending multi-professional meetings related to the young person/family to provide support and make professional recommendations.

Networking

We will work with and support existing networks to strengthen consistency and shine a light on best practice.

Where networks don’t exist and services are working in isolation, we may bring organisations together to build links and offer shared learning and support.

Please fill in an enquiry form if you would like to request training, consultancy or network support.
