7 March 2021
First celebrated in 1911, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on the 8th March each year and is an opportunity to celebrate women everywhere and to champion positive change for the future. Ensuring that the future is 'bright, equal, safe and rewarding' as the IWD website says, is something that has to be ongoing and everyone can play their part.
The theme for 2021's International Women's Day is 'Choose to Challenge' which is all about calling out gender bias and inequality and choosing to seek out and celebrate women's achievements.
This world wide statistic is a reminder to us all that despite the world having made unprecedented advances in the last decade, gender based violence is still so prevalent.
We can all do our bit to 'choose to challenge' and The United Nations '12 small steps' are a great place to start.
In all of our training, consultancy and direct therapeutic work
We are always learning and developing and we will review our work regularly to ensure that we are choosing to challenge.
