Feedback for the area based discussions in early February

As we mentioned in our 'latest news' a few weeks ago, we held 4 area based discussions throughout the first week of February. Over the past few weeks we have been pulling together the key points and next steps.

There were 4 main themes which we felt spanned across the geographical areas and are themes which we are prioritising over the coming months;

differences between CSA and CSE

We are working on embedding this into our training and also highlighting on our website to ensure that young people who have experienced CSA and CSE are offered the right services and support.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We are going to work with other organisations and communities to amplify the voices of different communities both in our training and on our website.

Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB)

We are going to develop our offer of support around this topic, including how we support professionals working with young people who have/are displaying HSB.

Support for Parents/Carers

We are developing our therapeutic offer for parents/carers and for the professionals working with them, this will include resources and sessions.

For information about the key discussion points in each geographical area and the results of the polls, you can view the full report Here

Finally, we are planning some thematic sessions in April, which will cover key topics such as HSB, Parent/Carer support and supporting young people in the LGBTQ+ community. If you are interested in supporting us with any of these sessions, please do get in touch with us at barnardosbeacon@barnardos.org.uk
